How to Apply
True Colours Trust and APCA are aware of the changing and challenging environment that palliative care organisations and service providers are operating in due to Covid-19 and have modified the priority areas of this grant round to include prevention of and protection against Covid-19. Kindly see the guidelines document for information on the new areas which will be considered within funding applications for this round.
- Download and read the guidelines document to ensure your project is in line with the grant scheme priority areas.
- Download the application form and accompanying tips document.
- Ensure you have completed all items on the checklist and that all necessary accompanying documents are provided.
- Submit the completed form and accompanying documents via email to truecolourssmallgrants@africanpalliativecare.org
Please note that we receive a large number of applications and some applications will therefore be unsuccessful. We will endeavour to communicate the trustees’ decision to all applicants within 8 weeks of the closing date.

Deadlines
Applications are accepted twice a year. The next deadline for applications in 2022 is 15th March. There will also be a round in August/September 2022. True Colours will then review applications in April and October.
What to expect if you are successful in applying for a grant
If you are successful in applying for a grant, you will be notified by APCA who will send you a grant approval letter and agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the grant.
Once the grant has been paid to your organisation, you will be required to report on the progress of the grant on a quarterly basis and to provide a financial report on how the grant was used. This will be explained in your agreement.
What to do if your application is not successful
If your application is not successful, you will receive a letter of regret from APCA. Please feel free to ask for feedback on your application.
Failure to succeed on one grant round does not stop you from applying for the next round.
